The bargain shopper out there has a long-held philosophy that bargains are the most important, who doesn’t like the feeling of getting something you want cheap! but far too often people compromise their shoe choices, going for the bargain instead of the more expensive shoe. Shoppers cheat themselves out of a wonderful shoe experience.

Sure it’s expensive but it lasts longer

Nothing is more annoying than wearing a pair of shoes a few times and finding that they fade, scuff, have fragile details (such as bows) or a heel that simply breaks off. Many expensive shoes are pricey for a reason. Hand crafted with quality materials these shoes cost a pretty penny but they last and last and last. Customers who buy the best quality shoe they can afford often save money because that one pair of shoes lasts a lot longer and often still maintains it’s shape and attractiveness.

Of course the downside is that paying more for shoes means less shoes in the closet. This is not necessarily a bad thing. Instead of a barrel full of disheveled cheap looking footwear a shoe wardrobe will grace your closet. A pair of luxurious heels, all-purpose ballet flats, favorite boots will all look great and serve you well for months and even years to come. Quality not quantity is often the best rule to follow. We all like having choices but sometimes fewer good choices are better than many bad ones. The next time you go shoe shopping decide to spend a little more for classic, loveable, long-lasting shoes.

When it comes to keeping up with the latest fashions, you have to keep your feet looking good, too. Today’s men’s shoe styles are a mixture of old styles, new looks and global comfort.

It’s True. Women Look At Your Shoes

There are a few quick clues that women check out before they make a decision about a guy. It’s said that they look at the eyes, the fingernails and the shoes. This seems shallow, but it’s a fact that men need to accept. Why the shoes? Women want to know if you keep up with men’s fashion, and they want to know if you understand the importance of price versus value.

Your Shoes Need to Match Your Clothes

Some girls like a man with sensible, well-made shoes. Other girls like a guy with a whimsical sense of fashion and style. They also want to know that you know how to pair the right shoes with the right clothes. As a general rule, it takes one very hip dude to pull off boots with shorts. Men’s shorts look better with low tops or flip-flops. Unless you’re a hiker, save the boots for when you wear jeans.

Brown shoes don’t go with grey pants. Don’t do it. The lesson here is that men need to purchase affordable, but quality shoes, so that they can have more than two pairs. Get outside of your comfort zone and try some fun colors, like red or purple. If you want a girl to notice your shoes, that’s the way to do it.

When new fashions come out from expensive designers, other companies tend to be very quick to put out a similar looking item of their own. Generally speaking, although they may look nice, knock-offs are rarely of high quality, and the biggest item to be weary of when buying a cheaper version is shoes.

For starters, women in particular need to be very cautious of the shoes that they put on their feet if they want to maintain nice looking feet. There are many stores all around that will sell tons of very fashionable shoes that may cost no more than twenty or thirty dollars, while a similar looking shoe for another designer will cost several hundred dollars. Shoes like these are usually made of faux materials, and can be very difficult to walk in after an hour or so because there is no padding in the shoe. So, to avoid feeling uncomfortable, consider buying the shoe a size bigger, that way if your foot begins to swell due to the shoe itself being padded poorly, that little extra room can make the situation bearable.

Another thing that should be considered when buying a cheap shoe is the expectation of the shoe’s life. Cheap shoes are made up of cheap materials, therefore, no matter if they are a dress shoe, an athletic shoe, or some other casual shoe , chances are, they will not withstand much wear and tear. So, although the initial savings may have been worth it, the savings may not be beneficial after the shoe has to be replaced in a month due to it falling apart.

Bling and style don’t have to break the bank. Every girl deserves to look at hot as Beyonce, and Knowles knows it. The diva and her mother have created the House of Dereon fashion line to bring the latest Hip Hop and Pop styles to her fans. Whether it’s jeans, dresses, accessories, or shoes, this clothing line will keep today’s fashion conscious women looking great at a good price.

Dereon clothes include an extensive line of footwear. It includes boots, heels, and flats with some very cool features that will definitely turn heads. The best part of the line is the price. Too often designers out price their products and it leaves the buyer in a tough situation. Should she spend more than she can afford to look good, or should she forgo fashion to save money? Dereon clothes are the answer. They very much address the old quandary about price v. value. Value does not mean “cheap.” It means the buyer is getting her money’s worth. It means quality is taken into consideration when the designer releases the latest line of fashions.

Knowles knows who her fans are, and she knows that they deserve high quality threads from blouses to boots. She also knows those clothes don’t have to hurt the budget. It’s a master business plan. Not only do her fans follow her music, but they’ll show up at the concert wearing Dereon clothes. There’s nothing like the total package to make a girl feel great about herself.

We all know shoes are important but many people do not know that certain types of footwear are a must-have for every woman. The list below is the bare bones requirement of shoes. Read below to notice if you are missing some required shoes.

Image via Wikipedia

The Pump

The heeled pump is the most owned shoe of all women due to its versatility. This functional but stylish heeled shoe looks good but is comfortable while working. The standard pump should be in a color that would go with almost anything – a black or nude color.

Everyday Flats

The flat shoe is a non-heeled shoe ware that can be worn everywhere. This shoe should fit comfortably and have a pop of color. The everyday flat should bring interest to a dull outfit but not exceedingly loud in color or texture.

Athletic Shoe

The athletic shoe is for walking, running or going to the gym. This foot accessory is to be used for doing activities and should fit well. Many people prefer to have a cross-trainer or running shoe for this category. Remember to try different kinds of workout shoes to find the best one for you.

Image via Wikipedia

Fashion Athletic

The fashion athletic shoe is for the sporty, but relaxed look. This shoe is usually made from canvas, but can be other materials. Fashion athletic shoes have better designs than a standard athletic shoe, but do not have good sole support.

The Wedge

The open-toe wedge is a shoe that is always in style. This shoe looks great with dresses, jeans and everything else. Look for wedges made from a nice neutral color and natural fabrics.

Image via Wikipedia

Women have long held a love/hate relationship with their shoes. The perfect pair of heels may draw much desired attention but can leave you writhing in pain by the end of the day. It’s important to buy good quality shoes that won’t break in the middle of the work day, or worse on a first date, but do you really have to pay designer prices? When you find a pair you really love should you be economical and just get one pair, or buy a couple of different colors because you know you’ll use them?

The challenges surrounding shoe choices can become exhausting. Fashion or function? Flash or feel? Realistically, the answer may be somewhere in the middle but more and more there are increasing options that fill both roles in the shoe debate – shoes that look nice but won’t kill your feet, or your budget, in the process. It used to be that a functional shoe was an ugly, you’re-never-going-to-get-a-date shoe. Now designers are becoming more practical, providing low and no-heel options that still look nice, meet business and social requirements as well as protect one of the most important of our physical resources – our feet.

Because although shoes were originally invented to protect our feet, at the end of the day, most women are likely to have at least one, or more, pairs of shoes or boots that are more fun than function. But whether you admit that three and a half inch heels are painful or not, it’s always nice to have options.

Everyone knows that it’s the accessories that make the outfit, and, therefore, the doll. You can find some very stunning and cute outfits for your American Girl doll. Choosing which particular outfit for her to wear at which time can be a fun experience. That is only half of the fun, though.

You can also find some really great doll shoesthat can coordinate with your doll’s entire outfit. Whether your doll is dressed in a spring frock and needs some dressy flats or if you are looking for some rain boots to go with her new rain coat, you can find exactly what will look best with her outfit.

Shopping at online stores for footware can be a fun and rewarding experience. You will have the opportunity to browse through the wide selection of shoes for your doll as well as a wide variety of other accessories such as purses, hair brushes, hair accessories, and more. By doing your shopping at an online store, you can compare prices easily before making your purchase.

When choosing shoes for your doll, you will want to make a note of the care instructions for each pair that you buy. While some styles of shoes, such as rain boots, can be cleaned with a bit of water, others, such as leather flats, can be harmed if you use water to clean them. Instead, you can pick the dirt off gently and use a bit of leather cleaner as well.

All the accessories you can add to your American Girl Doll, and all the creative things you can do with her appearance, makes having her that much more fun!

High heels are a fashion accessory that is here to stay. Regarded by some women as impractical and uncomfortable, and by some men as the ultimate symbol of powerful women’s sexuality, high heels are a staple you can see all over every day. But why are they such a popular accessory, given their bizarre nature and potential for discomfort and even danger of injury? Let’s examine them in some detail, and lay it out.

High heels are a symbol of dominance. When she wears a pair of high heels, a woman is taller, and is forced to walk with her heels contacting the ground first. While many people do not realize it, this is how men are designed to walk. This puts women and men on, pardon the pun, equal footing. But no woman who wears high heels is going to be accused of trying to look like a man, given the universally recognized sex symbol status that a woman garners when she wears this impractical but undeniable accessory.

Finding the perfect pair of summer shoes can sometimes seem like a daunting task. Whether you’re looking for sandals, flats, or wedges, it’s important to consider the color, materials used, and price v. value of your new shoes.

Color
Color is one of the most important considerations when finding a great pair of summer shoes. Not only should your shoes match well with the rest of your wardrobe, but they should also flatter your body. Nude-colored heels and wedges can extend the eye down the length of the leg, making legs look long and lean. Pair these with a cute pair of summer shorts, a dress, or a skirt. Your legs will look longer and the neutral tone will match with almost anything!

Price v. Value
You should always consider price v. value when purchasing any new clothes or accessories. Sometimes known as “price per wear,” this concept takes the cost of the item and divides it by the number of times you intend to wear it. Reducing price v. value is easy! Simply look at ways to wear your shoes more frequently, or better yet, look at ways to reduce the cost. Coupon sites like Offers.com provide simple savings on many name brands.

Materials
When considering the materials used, you should also take into account where you intend to wear them. Will you be wearing your shoes to the beach, to your workplace, or out to dinner? Look into the durability of the materials, whether or not they are waterproof, and how well they resist stains.

These considerations can help you choose summer shoes that meet your budget and your lifestyle needs.

Any devoted fan of the television show Sex and the City knows the agonies of a bona fide shoe addict. More likely to buy shoes than groceries, Carrie Bradshaw is the shoe addict archetype. Stacks and stacks of shoe-boxes line her closet, each pair costing several hundred dollars apiece. While some shoe addicts may believe that they can live a long and healthy life with this addiction, those of you with less “fun money” to spend can find the affliction almost unbearable. Here are a few tips to help you deal with.

Find a friend with the same shoe size. – Many friends enjoy sharing clothes. Sharing shoes is just one step further. By sharing shoes with your friends, you automatically double your collection of shoes and cut the cost of any new pairs in half. If you don’t have a friend with the same shoe size, make one. You already have a great conversation-starter.

Set aside a reasonable amount of money after your other bills. – If you know that you are going to spend money on shoes, don’t try to stop spending money completely. Just cut back on the amount that you spend. Set aside a reasonable amount, and treat yourself. A little taste might keep you from over-doing it.

Seize the Sale – Let’s face it. It is hard to resist a sale. So many pairs of shoes for such a small price! Go easy on yourself. Take advantage of a sale, even if it didn’t quite fit into your money-spending schedule. Just remember to set a limit. Don’t buy everything in sight.

Go retro. – When your shoe budget is running particularly low, you don’t necessarily have to stop buying them all together. Instead, try changing your shoe shop. Go to a thrift store. You can find some amazing old styles and make them new again.

A cure for shoe addiction may never exist, but with these few suggestions, coping with your addiction can become a little easier, at least on your wallet. Those stunning new six-inch stilettos probably won’t be too easy on your feet.

Some people may complain that wearing high heels can warp your feet, strain your legs, and ruin your ability to walk for life. While some of these points can be true, there are several good reasons to wear high heels occasionally. Before the high heel naysayers get too ahead of themselves, and begin to raid closets everywhere, here are a few benefits of wearing high heels.

The Physical Benefits

High heels bring with them numerous physical benefits in addition to the couple of detractions. They increase your height, make your legs look longer, and sway your hips in an almost enthralling way. And, of course, there is the best physical benefit of wearing high heels: the clicking noise they make when you are walking on any flat surface, one of a woman’s designated power noises. While high heels can place your feet in an unnatural and at times uncomfortable position, they can help you physically as well.

The Psychological Benefits

Let’s just face it: a large part of why women wear high heels is for the psychological benefits they can bring. If you put all of the physical benefits together, these can add up to an impressive increase in your confidence. When you feel taller, sexier, and more powerful, you feel capable of handling any challenge that comes strutting down the runway of your life. Some days, a little foot discomfort could definitely be worth a boost in confidence.

With these benefits in mind, you need not feel bad about wearing high heels any longer! Just remember not to wear them all the time. The naysayers may not be completely justified in banning your fashionable high heels, but they do have a point or two.

A lot of people think that there is just no possible way you can be fashionable without also being a stuck up, egocentric snob who thinks of nothing more than their own looks. And while it is definitely possible to completely embody that stereotype (plenty of people are out there to do just that), it is also not necessary to be like that at all. You can look great, both on the inside and on the outside, simply by changing some of the things you do. After all, nowhere is it written in stone that you can not have both an eye for fashion and a heart.

For instance, you can make it a point to only buy items which are fair trade. That means you buy items which are produced in another country, where that other country agrees to buy a financially equal amount of American made goods. While it can occasionally be inconvenient to only buy items which are fair trade, the ultimate economic benefit is to balance out the production capacities (and the level of jobs) in not one but two countries. While this might not seem all that altruistic, allowing people to continue working in an era when a lot of people have lost the only work they know how to do is a very kindly act that can still leave you looking great.

Another thing you can do is to buy clothes and shoes which make charitable contributions every time someone buys them. One great example of this kind of product is Toms shoes, which are both inordinately stylish and highly altruistic. After all, every time you buy a pair of them, a charitable donation is made to a very poor area in Latin America. The entire idea originated in Argentina, so it makes sense they should receive some kind of benefit. So, look and be great.

When you are shopping for a new article of clothing, new bag, new shoes, or any new fashion purchase, a large expense for the item can be difficult to swallow. Here are some questions for evaluating whether that new purchase is worth the price tag.

Is it something you need? – Chances are the majority of your money should be spent on items that you need, and not frivolous, fun items. This is rule one of buying. Buy items that you need, like a new pair of shoes or outfit for work.

Is it something you want? – While this may seem like a silly question, it can be very important to answer truthfully. Do you actually want this item, or is it simply a purchase you think you should make? Keep in mind, no matter how “smart” a purchase may sound, it is never a good idea if you are unlikely to use it.

Is it something that will last? – Quality craftsmanship counts. Buying a cheap version that will wear out in a few months isn’t worth it. Paying a little more for a piece that will last longer definitely is.

Can you use it for more than one purpose? – Make your purchase twice as effective. Buy items that you can use for more than one purpose. That hot new jacket that works for both work and out on the town is a smart steal.

Is it something that will make you feel good? – Sometimes, you need to make a purchase that will raise your spirits and revitalize your attitude. Be sure to include these in your budget as well.

Make smart shopping decisions with these questions, and enjoy your purchases!

If you have ever needed a little pick me up, consider the magic that a makeover can have on your appearance and your attitude. You don’t need hundreds of dollars to make a change. Here are a few suggestions of simple, relatively inexpensive ways to give a lift your looks and spirits.

Cut your hair. – This is a makeover given, but sometimes you can need a little just how effective a new cut can be. Be sure not to cut it impulsively, however. Spend a little time thinking over which cut you want and how you’ll handle the change in your daily routine.

Dye your hair. – You don’t need to make a dramatic change to feel a little different. Try a slightly different shade, a little lighter or darker. Get highlights. Or, you know, go crazy and switch it up completely. Even blue can be fun – if only for a night.

Get your eyebrows waxed. – A little facial clean up can really refresh your image. Having your eyebrows waxed is an easy, inexpensive way to do this. You can have a professional do it, or even try it at home yourself. If you haven’t done it before, be sure to get tips from a reliable source first.

Buy some new accessories. – You may not have money to buy an entirely new outfit, but you can add some new details to an outfit you already have. Buy a new bag, belt, or necklace.

Buy a new pair of boots. – When all else fails, buy yourself a new pair of boots and play some girl power music. Nothing can make you feel more feminine and empowered than a little knee-high, zip-up action.

A makeover doesn’t have to be all over to be magic. Even a few new little details can brighten your day and makeover your attitude. Enjoy the new you!

With all the advantages of a credit card and none of the interest rate issues, a prepaid reach card is one way to get your spending life in order. Shopping will never be the same once you’ve placed this convenient piece of plastic into your wallet. Without the need for a checking account, you can still enjoy the advantages that ‘plastic’ gives to everyone. Easy access to your funds without fear of misplacing cash or coins, acceptance at most credit card readers, and simplicity and security all combine to make the reach card a winner.

You can set your spending limit up or down as your money situation warrants. The cool thing is that if you don’t have money, you need not worry about racking up bills that will accrue interest that you can’t afford. By using the Reach Card prepaid card, you’ll only spend money that you’ve got. But you can spend it anywhere, so you can be styling in that catchy new outfit just as soon as you’ve made sure it fits! Prepaid cards keep up with your life without making you feel pinned down with the fear of unlimited spending sprees which lead to serious money problems later.

It doesn’t matter if you want to put the exact same amount on the card each month to keep your spending and wardrobe up to date or if you want to modify the amount at different times. It’s up to you, and the card is as flexible as a checking account. Access your money how you want. And best of all, you’ll never lose sleep because you’re wondering how you’re going to pay for everything that you bought on your instant gratification based spree. It’s already paid for! The reach card is clever like that, and will keep you feeling pretty clever about your financial management, too.

Fashion designers create the designs for clothing and accessories. To become a fashion designer, you have to be able to sketch and have a good eye for design and be able to do it in detail. The competition is very high in this field and you need to have strong self-confidence and have confidence in your work. You will have a better chance at success if you get a degree in fashion design. You will want either a 2-year or 4 year degree. Look at the most well known fashion design schools and include some of your sketches as part of your application. You will also want to take as many courses in marketing and business that you can. It is very important in this career to understand how the business end works.

There are a lot of software programs that are design related and it is a good thing to look into. You want to have some knowledge of these. You will need a portfolio of your designs. Be as creative as you can when creating your portfolio. Employers want to see creativity and individuality. Sign up for an internship as soon as possible. You will not find this kind of experience anywhere else and it will help you get a job afterwards.

While you are in school, make as many connections as you can with industries and anywhere else that will help you get your foot in the door. Read as much fashion magazines as you can so you are keeping up with all the trends. You don’t want all your designs to be last years trend. Most fashion designers work in New York. Some work in Las Angeles, but New York is the place you want to go if you are serious about it. You will probably want to learn how to sew as well. Any extra skills will help.

Let’s face it: not everyone was gifted with the fashion gene. Some people mix colors that clash, clothes that are rumpled, or pieces that only accentuate imperfections. If this describes you, don’t be ashamed. You can do something to become better in this somewhat lacking area of your life. Admitting that you lack some skill in fashion is the first step toward combating your fashion faux pas. Here are a few ideas to help you.

Think about the lines. – Fashion is an art. In a great painting, you study where the major lines in the composition are, where your eyes are drawn. The same thing also happens on your body. Find the lines and cuts of your clothing hit you on your body. Good lines draw the eye away from your less admirable parts. Bad lines accentuate these spots instead.

Pick a color palette. – Color is another important factor in fashion. Some colors don’t go together. Colors come in families of shades. Pastels go together. Rich, dark jewel-tones. Some colors will go with your skin-tone, hair color, and eyes more easily than others. Remember those times when someone compliments a color on you – this color will be your new friend.

Look to the details. – You don’t have to go crazy with accessories, wearing bracelets up your arms, layers of necklaces, and eight bags per arm. Accessories are an easy, inexpensive way to change up an outfit, and to bring a little personal detail to your ensemble. Find a necklace that you love, earrings that you covet, or a bag that thrills you.

And one last suggestion: take pride in you! Yes, it may take more time to get ready in the morning, but spending even five more minutes can demonstrate to other people around you that you care about your appearance and about yourself. Look better and you’ll feel better, too.

Bridal fashion week is a big deal for those who follow fashions. The best and brightest of the bridal fashion industry are there, and we discover what is going to be hot this season. So, what are some of the bridal fashion trends?

Colorful Dresses

We are starting to veer away from white wedding dresses. Currently, the trend is to add a splash of color, if not a bright, colorful wedding dress. Along with this, many brides are choosing to make their dress a complement to their engagement rings, whether in style, color or any other individual way.

Fun and Funky Footwear

Shoes are a big thing to brides. Making sure that you have the right shoes is important to pulling the look together. Some brides choose to add color with their shoes. When choosing a white dress, it can be frustrating to try to add some color. This is easily done with your shoes! Another popular trend is to wear shoes that you wouldn’t normally associate with a wedding, such as flip-flops or tennis shoes. Heels and dress flats are still in style of course, and will always be. It’s important to find the right shoe to match your dress, your wedding and your style.

When putting together a wedding, you have to look at all aspects. The dress has to look great, the shoes have to match, and both of these have to complement the overall theme and feel of the wedding itself. Though this can be hard, it’s important to pull off the perfect wedding.

Most women know the feeling that comes from a fine pair of heels. As you slide each foot in, you feel suddenly taller, sexier, and more powerful. That feeling only increases as you begin to strut down the fashion aisle of your mind, out your front door, and into your day. Regardless of how amazing your heels can make you feel, they do need to be set aside occasionally. Here are a few good reasons to take a break from your favorite heels and give some flats a go!

1. Give your feet a rest. – This is, of course, one of the best reasons to put aside the heels for a few days. Let’s face it. Heels put your foot in an unnatural position and can stress your feet and legs. It won’t kill your fashion to take a break. In fact, a little change can revitalize it.

2. Switch up your fashion. – Switching up your footwear can give a little lift to your foot fashion. Flats make a different statement than heels; a pair of Mary Janes can feel a little less power-chic and a little more cute.

3. Make your boyfriend feel a little taller. – Don’t underestimate this benefit of opting for flats, especially if you are a taller woman to begin with. Put the heels in your closet, and let him think he’s the tall, strong one in the relationship for a little while.

4. Save the heels for special occasions. – Putting on heels is often the final step in getting dolled up for a night on the town. If you wear these shoes every day, however, you can diminish the pleasure you get from wearing them. Use flats for the work-week, and save your heels for Friday night.

5. Keep up your health. – Ultimately, you may have to closet your heels for good if your health demands it of you, but do not despair. Fashionable, fun flats can satisfy both your health needs and your fashion desires.

Remember, you look fabulous whichever shoe option you choose. Confidence is the sexiest accessory!

The pump shoe has been around in some form since the 1500′s, although the form that is so familiar today didn’t evolve until the 1950′s. Both men and women have worn this shoe, sometimes at the same period in history. They went out of fashion for men in the 1800′s when the wearing of knee-length breeches gave way to the trouser. No longer did men desire to show off their shapely calves by enhancing them with a heel. Throughout the history of the shoe, the heel has always been on the thick side. A new material created after WWII was introduced, allowing the shoe maker to create a thin column that could support the weight of the wearer.

Christian Dior collaborated with shoe designer Roger Viver to create the design that we have come to know so well. The heel became known as the stiletto and the sides were pared down, leaving the toe box and heel intact. This design revealed more of the foot, a counterbalance to Dior’s New Look. The New Look was defined by dresses with fitted bodices and full skirts that came to just below the knee. What happened was a revolution in shoe wear, one that has lasted almost sixty years.

Since Dior, artists such as Salvatore’ Ferragamo turned the pump into scintillating creations, season after season. Subsequent designers have put their own stamp on the style, creating amazing works of fantasy. But one thing remains – the pump is the pump is the pump. Women will always have a sensible pair in their closet for every occasion.

There is nothing like the feeling of a warm summer day and being able to show off your legs in a pair of strappy sandals. The beauty of this style of shoe is that it can be worn day and night, going from the beach to the club. They can be found in flats, wedges and skinny high heels. It is a versatile shoe that anyone can wear and feel good in them.

Strappy sandals show off the calf, ankle and foot to the advantage of the wearer. For those who are not blessed with a trim ankle, they can still get away with wearing them. Instead of buying a flat, go for a wedge or a heel of some type. The downwards angle of the shoe trims the ankle, providing a welcome illusion. And for those who are not comfortable in a thin heel, consider a wedge instead. The effect is still the same, but much more comfortable to wear. A wedge sandal is unlikely to be clunky as the openness of the straps lighten up the overall look.

While sandals are an eternal style and are available in all sorts of configurations, they are a good pairing with the latest trend of 1970′s influenced clothes. Clothing styles are leaning towards the Halston look of halter top dresses with long leg slits, perfect for pairing with a thigh high laced sandal with a heel. Bell bottom jeans are also returning, so consider a chunky wedge with brown leather straps. Although clunky sounding, there is still plenty of sex appeal in this combination.

Shoes are a girl’s best friend. Forget the diamonds; they’re just way too expensive. Just look at Imelda Marcos – she really knew her shoes! She certainly spent money on them like it was no-body’s business. The rest of the world can only dream and settle for wearing lesser quality footwear. And here is where paying attention to the shoe will pay off.

There are so many discount shoe stores these days, making it all too easy to find a deal. But sometimes the deals are too good to be true. A sexy pair of shoes for $15 gives $15 worth of wear. Maybe a few nights out on the town and that is it. Follow the tips below and get the most shoe for the dollar.

Look at the construction of the shoe. A majority of shoes these days are glued together with industrial strength adhesives, which is not a bad thing. But when the glue is applied poorly or the components are not firmly stuck together, pass on the shoe.

Consider the materials. Fabric shoes will always wear out sooner than a leather shoe. But both have the same criteria for quality – thickness. If a shoe feels thin and flimsy and it is not a sandal, pass on it. Synthetic leathers wear very easily as well, so caveat emptor.

Familiarize oneself with shoe brands. A well-known brand will occasionally put out a poorly made shoe, which is why they end up in a discount store. If the item seems cheap even for the name brand, don’t buy it unless they are a must have.

Shoes will wear out faster than any other piece of clothing or accessory that you own. If you want your shoes to last, you will need to take care of them on a regular basis. You will want to clean your shoes regularly if you use them every day. After you wear your shoes, have some sort of brush by your door so when you walk in your house you can brush all the dust off your shoes.

You will want to get some shoe polish and polish your leather shoes as often as needed. If it snows in the winter where you live, polish your shoes before winter and often during the winter to protect the leather. Also, you can buy rain repellent for your shoes if you live in a place where it rains a lot. If your shoes get wet, you will want to air dry them, especially if they are leather. Do not set them by a heater or a fire because this will hurt the leather. For any kind of tennis shoe, stuff them with newspaper so it absorbs the water.

If you live in an area where more severe weather is common, you may get salt lines on your shoes. To get rid of these, simply wipe off your shoes with a wet cloth. You may also want to try water and vinegar.

There are many things you can do to get rid of foot odor, such as shoetrees or powders. You can also put dryer sheets in your shoes while you are not using them. There are some kinds of shoes that require special needs. If you have expensive shoes made out of a special kind of material, you may want to research how to keep these shoes protected and the proper way to clean them. By simply keeping your shoes clean, they will last a lot longer than expected.

Wearing heels is not always comfortable. It also isn’t the healthiest choice, but it is the choice most women choose when they want to look classy and professional. There are ways to make it more comfortable for you. You will not want to start with 6-inch heels. These will kill your feet. You will probably want to start off with something smaller such as kitten heels. These have a small heel so it is easier to walk in, but you will still look attractive in them. After you are comfortable walking in these, move up to 3-inch wedge heels. These shoes are more solid and less wobbly than a thinner, taller heel and it will be easier for you to walk in these. Walk around at home wearing these for a few days or however long it takes you to feel comfortable without stumbling.

When you buy high heels, you will want to pick a pair that has a comfortable insole. You will probably want to start with a 3 or 3 ½ inch heel. When you start walking in heels, take small steps and go from heel to toe. Make sure your legs are relaxed, as not relaxing them will result in cramping. You also want to keep your knees relatively straight.

Walk with confidence. Keep your head up, your feet forward, and try to swing your arms lightly to keep your balance. If you are walking up stairs, you will want to hold on the railing and only put the front of your foot on the stair. When going down, you will want your whole foot on the stairs, but keep your hand on the railing to maintain your balance.

If you are new at walking in heels, you will want to take breaks often to avoid hurting your feet and also avoid looking like you are trying too hard. Make sure you are taking care of your feet by massaging them while you are at home.

If you have invested in designer shoes, you will want to take proper care for them. You will need a place to store your shoes where it is away from heaters and any damp places in the house. Consider taking your shoes to a cobbler and get shoe taps. You may also want some rubber soles to put on the bottom of your shoes. In the long run, you will be saving money. When storing your shoes, you will want to keep them in the dust bag they came with. If they did not come with one, go out and buy one. This will prevent dust and other things that can potentially harmful to your shoes.

Store your shoes in the box they came with or get a better box. Storing them in a box will help keep them protected. Take the time to clean and polish your shoes. For leather shoes, you will want to get a cleaning kit and shoe polish. Spray your shoes with a stain guard if you are worried about rain or other things that will harm your shoes. You will need to know the proper way to dry your shoes if they get wet. With different kinds of shoes, there are different ways to treat them. For leather shoes, use a dry cloth to wipe off the water and stuff them with newspaper to absorb the moisture. Let them air dry and keep them away from heat. Do not let suede shoes get wet. This will ruin them.

If you have a certain pair of shoes you wear constantly, you will want to take a break from them every now and then and you will probably want to take them to a cobbler at least once a year. You will want to do this before there is any serious damage to your shoe. Always make sure you are cleaning your shoes properly and checking them for damage regularly.

A cobbler designs, fixes, makes, or decorates shoes. To become a cobbler, you will need to understand all you can about shoes. Take some classes that teach you how to design shoes. There are actually schools specifically for shoe designing. However, these schools are usually very expensive. You don’t necessarily have to go to a large school in New York. You can just start where you are at and work on your creativity skills in art classes.

You will want to choose a specialty or an area in which you want to design. Sketch all your ideas on paper and start creating shoes from scratch. There are trade shows you can go to that will connect you with people in the industry. There will be many people you will want to talk to such as designers, marketers, and manufacturers. Learn as much as you can about these people and talk to them about the business.

You will need a business plan to be a cobbler. You need more than the ability to design shoes. You need to know how to run a business. You may want to get some sort of degree or education in business or marketing. You may want to ask a financial planner to help you plan. There is not only one way to become a cobbler. If you think the marketing and designing is too difficult for you, you can work with just painting and dying shoes or just focus on the decorating if that is your strength. Or you can do it all. The marketing, the creating, the designing, and the decorating. Starting a new business is hard, but it is worth it in the end. You can even start a business at home and make shoes for your neighbors. You don’t have to start big.

A lot of people now days are starting to wear ballet flats with their everyday outfits. This is one of the hottest trends today. They are available in numerous colors and designs. Since these shoes come in numerous materials such as satin or leather, you can wear them for almost any occasion. When buying flats, decide where you are going to wear them. Whether you are going to wear them to a fancy party, a business meeting, or simply to get your groceries. You will need to know this so you can buy the ones with the right material.

Make sure you are wearing them with the right kind of clothing. You don’t want to be wearing casual flats with a formal dress. Ballet flats are not like heels, so they will not give your legs the long, lean look. You will want to wear them with a pencil skirt or trouser pants. That will give them the perfect look. Try avoiding anything that will make your legs look short and stumpy while wearing flats. Any long pants will work perfectly. If you want to wear them to work, make sure they are made of some sort of material that looks classy and professional such as leather.

Walking in heels make woman walk differently than when they are wearing flats. Think about how you are walking. When you are wearing ballet flats, try to walk like a ballerina. this will help you look a lot more flattering if you are use to wearing heels.

Since ballet flats come in so many different colors and designs, it is easy to pair them with almost any outfit. They work especially well with any casual outfit. While neutral colors are ideal and will go with anything, try making your outfit more colorful by choosing some more colorful shoes.
