Thing to Consider When Buying "Cheap" Shoes

When new fashions come out from expensive designers, other companies tend to be very quick to put out a similar looking item of their own.  Generally speaking, although they may look nice, knock-offs are rarely of high quality, and the biggest item to be weary of when buying a cheaper version is shoes.

For starters, women in particular need to be very cautious of the shoes that they put on their feet if they want to maintain nice looking feet.  There are many stores all around that will sell tons of very fashionable shoes that may cost no more than twenty or thirty dollars, while a similar looking shoe for another designer will cost several hundred dollars.  Shoes like these are usually made of faux materials, and can be very difficult to walk in after an hour or so because there is no padding in the shoe.  So, to avoid feeling uncomfortable, consider buying the shoe a size bigger, that way if your foot begins to swell due to the shoe itself being padded poorly, that little extra room can make the situation bearable.

Another thing that should be considered when buying a cheap shoe is the expectation of the shoe’s life.  Cheap shoes are made up of cheap materials, therefore, no matter if they are a dress shoe, an athletic shoe, or some other casual shoe , chances are, they will not withstand much wear and tear.  So, although the initial savings may have been worth it, the savings may not be beneficial after the shoe has to be replaced in a month due to it falling apart.

A Shoe Staple List For All

The Pump

The heeled pump is the most owned shoe of all women due to its versatility. This functional but stylish heeled shoe looks good but is comfortable while working. The standard pump should be in a color that would go with almost anything – a black or nude color.

Everyday Flats

The flat shoe is a non-heeled shoe ware that can be worn everywhere. This shoe should fit comfortably and have a pop of color. The everyday flat should bring interest to a dull outfit but not exceedingly loud in color or texture.

Athletic Shoe

The athletic shoe is for walking, running or going to the gym. This foot accessory is to be used for doing activities and should fit well. Many people prefer to have a cross-trainer or running shoe for this category. Remember to try different kinds of workout shoes to find the best one for you.

The Wedge

The open-toe wedge is a shoe that is always in style. This shoe looks great with dresses, jeans and everything else. Look for wedges made from a nice neutral color and natural fabrics.

The joy of High Heels

High heels are a fashion accessory that is here to stay. Regarded by some women as impractical and uncomfortable, and by some men as the ultimate symbol of powerful women’s sexuality, high heels are a staple you can see all over every day. But why are they such a popular accessory, given their bizarre nature and potential for discomfort and even danger of injury? Let’s examine them in some detail, and lay it out.

High heels are a symbol of dominance. When she wears a pair of high heels, a woman is taller, and is forced to walk with her heels contacting the ground first. While many people do not realize it, this is how men are designed to walk. This puts women and men on, pardon the pun, equal footing. But no woman who wears high heels is going to be accused of trying to look like a man, given the universally recognized sex symbol status that a woman garners when she wears this impractical but undeniable accessory.

Bridal Fashions – Dress to Shoes!

Bridal fashion week is a big deal for those who follow fashions. The best and brightest of the bridal fashion industry are there, and we discover what is going to be hot this season. So, what are some of the bridal fashion trends?

Colorful Dresses

We are starting to veer away from white wedding dresses. Currently, the trend is to add a splash of color, if not a bright, colorful wedding dress. Along with this, many brides are choosing to make their dress a complement to their engagement rings, whether in style, color or any other individual way.

Fun and Funky Footwear

Shoes are a big thing to brides. Making sure that you have the right shoes is important to pulling the look together. Some brides choose to add color with their shoes. When choosing a white dress, it can be frustrating to try to add some color. This is easily done with your shoes! Another popular trend is to wear shoes that you wouldn’t normally associate with a wedding, such as flip-flops or tennis shoes. Heels and dress flats are still in style of course, and will always be. It’s important to find the right shoe to match your dress, your wedding and your style.

When putting together a wedding, you have to look at all aspects. The dress has to look great, the shoes have to match, and both of these have to complement the overall theme and feel of the wedding itself. Though this can be hard, it’s important to pull off the perfect wedding.

A Look at the Ever Eternal Pump

The pump shoe has been around in some form since the 1500′s, although the form that is so familiar today didn’t evolve until the 1950′s. Both men and women have worn this shoe, sometimes at the same period in history. They went out of fashion for men in the 1800′s when the wearing of knee-length breeches gave way to the trouser. No longer did men desire to show off their shapely calves by enhancing them with a heel.  Throughout the history of the shoe, the heel has always been on the thick side. A new material created after WWII was introduced, allowing the shoe maker to create a thin column that could support the weight of the wearer.

Christian Dior collaborated with shoe designer Roger Viver to create the design that we have come to know so well. The heel became known as the stiletto and the sides were pared down, leaving the toe box and heel intact. This design revealed more of the foot, a counterbalance to Dior’s New Look. The New Look was defined by dresses with fitted bodices and full skirts that came to just below the knee. What happened was a revolution in shoe wear, one that has lasted almost sixty years.

Since Dior, artists such as Salvatore’ Ferragamo turned the pump into scintillating creations, season after season. Subsequent designers have put their own stamp on the style, creating amazing works of fantasy. But one thing remains – the pump is the pump is the pump. Women will always have a sensible pair in their closet for every occasion.

Getting the Best Shoe for the Money Spent at the Discount Store

Shoes are a girl’s best friend. Forget the diamonds; they’re just way too expensive. Just look at Imelda Marcos – she really knew her shoes! She certainly spent money on them like it was no-body’s business. The rest of the world can only dream and settle for wearing lesser quality footwear. And here is where paying attention to the shoe will pay off.

There are so many discount shoe stores these days, making it all too easy to find a deal. But sometimes the deals are too good to be true. A sexy pair of shoes for $15 gives $15 worth of wear. Maybe a few nights out on the town and that is it. Follow the tips below and get the most shoe for the dollar.

  • Look at the construction of the shoe. A majority of shoes these days are glued together with industrial strength adhesives, which is not a bad thing. But when the glue is applied poorly or the components are not firmly stuck together, pass on the shoe.
  • Consider the materials. Fabric shoes will always wear out sooner than a leather shoe. But both have the same criteria for quality – thickness. If a shoe feels thin and flimsy and it is not a sandal, pass on it. Synthetic leathers wear very easily as well, so caveat emptor.
  • Familiarize oneself with shoe brands. A well-known brand will occasionally put out a poorly made shoe, which is why they end up in a discount store. If the item seems cheap even for the name brand, don’t buy it unless they are a must have.

What To Wear Flats With

A lot of people now days are starting to wear ballet flats with their everyday outfits. This is one of the hottest trends today. They are available in numerous colors and designs. Since these shoes come in numerous materials such as satin or leather, you can wear them for almost any occasion. When buying flats, decide where you are going to wear them. Whether you are going to wear them to a fancy party, a business meeting, or simply to get your groceries. You will need to know this so you can buy the ones with the right material.

Make sure you are wearing them with the right kind of clothing. You don’t want to be wearing casual flats with a formal dress. Ballet flats are not like heels, so they will not give your legs the long, lean look. You will want to wear them with a pencil skirt or trouser pants. That will give them the perfect look. Try avoiding anything that will make your legs look short and stumpy while wearing flats. Any long pants will work perfectly. If you want to wear them to work, make sure they are made of some sort of material that looks classy and professional such as leather.

Walking in heels make woman walk differently than when they are wearing flats. Think about how you are walking. When you are wearing ballet flats, try to walk like a ballerina. this will help you look a lot more flattering if you are use to wearing heels.

Since ballet flats come in so many different colors and designs, it is easy to pair them with almost any outfit. They work especially well with any casual outfit. While neutral colors are ideal and will go with anything, try making your outfit more colorful by choosing some more colorful shoes.
